Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need a videographer when I already have a photographer?
We encourage you to have both if you can! A video of your wedding day captures the emotions, sounds, energy, vibe, and feel of your special day. Video allows you to relive those same feelings for years to come.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! We know that weddings are a financial investment and completely understand how overwhelming it can be keeping up with all of it. Once you receive your invoice, you have 3 days to pay the deposit so we can secure the date. From there, you have all the way up until 14 days before the wedding date before the full balance is due. Easy peasy! If you would like to make payments, pay all at once, or work out a plan with us that works best for you, we’re all for it! We’re here to make it work. We use PayPal, Venmo, and credit/debit card payments. If we could do it for free and still pay the bills, we absolutely would. Since we can’t, we hope this option helps.
What is the benefit of having 2 videographers capturing my wedding day as opposed to 1 videographer?
You’re wedding day only happens once, so you don’t want anything to be left out that’s important. While not impossible, 1 videographer will be very challenged to capture emotions, reactions, and every specific detailed moment. 2 videographers on set capturing your day will always look better on film. Everyone knows teamwork makes dreamwork, and that’s what your wedding day deserves. Plus, with C&S Videography, the benefit of having 2 videographers for you is, there’s no additional cost!
Can I use my own music in the video from my favorite artist?
Unfortunately no, copyright laws in the United States from music artists are very strict. Wedding videographers get in trouble frequently from using music they do not have the rights to in a clients wedding video. Instead, we are contracted through a music licensing company that has beautiful tracks that we will incorporate into your highlight video. We use our best judgement to learn about you and will add fitting music that matches your taste and personalities.
(Reception dance music is also not able to be used, even as background music from the DJ).
What’s with all the questions on my wedding questionnaire that I have to fill out?
Although we like to say we are professional videographers, shooting from the hip on a day that means this much to you is too much of a risk that we are just not capable of taking without some before hand information. We don’t just set up a single camera in the back of the ceremony and press record. We get in the action of the wedding! This allows us to capture the laughing, the crying, the excitement, and its an experience that makes viewers feel like they are there all over again bringing back those same feelings that you experienced on that day.
What’s the benefit of having a free consultation?
Let’s get a drink or get some coffee, or even dinner over facetime if that’s your thing. This is where we all get to know each other. The more we learn about you the more your film will transition into a wedding story that will be able to be enjoyed for years to come. This is where we can talk about any questions you have or any changes in your edit that you would like. You should know who is capturing one of the most important days of your life. You are the most important people to us on that day and we want you to trust and have confidence that we are the right ones to film your special day.
(And no worries, if you’re not comfortable meeting with us and just want us to show up and do what we do best, we will make it happen).
